1. Iowa
Association for Play Therapy Annual
Conference 2011: This year’s
conference will be held September 15-16, 2011 at the Holiday Inn Hotel
and Conference Center in Coralville. Our
presenter this fall will be Paris
Goodyear-Brown. She will be presenting Flexible
Sequential Play Therapy (FSPT): A
Component Based Model of Trauma Treatment.

3. APT:
The 2011
conference will be held
in Sacramento, CA on October 11-16, 2011. If
you are not already a member, check out http://www.a4pt.org/ps.join.cfm?ID=1153
to join APT/IAPT. Remember that if you
join, you will receive discounts to conferences, the bi-monthly Play
Therapy
journal, and lots of other information about play therapy so join today!
4. IAPT Board:
The Board meets about once a month in the
Cedar Rapids vicinity on
Monday evenings. Our main focus is to
continue
planning for play therapy training opportunities in Iowa.
We continue to work on volunteer opportunities
and development of IAPT. You

or the board via our website to learn more about how you may be able to
contribute to our branch organization.

Collaboration: IAPT
continues to work on partnering with
neighboring branches in the spirit of joint growth and organizational
health. Look for e-mail notifications and
information
in these bulletins about conferences and workshops available in nearby
states.
6.
Membership: IAPT
received Gold Branch Status for
2010! Thank you for your membership! This year we increased our membership by
16.9%! Please continue to pass on
information about our organization to those who may have an interest in
play

7. Research:
IAPT is discussing the possibility of funding
research to be done in the
field of play therapy. It is very
important for research to be completed to help with the integrity of
our field. Please contact the board if you
have any
interest in this topic.
